Eureka AirSpeed Gold Bagless Upright with AirSpeed Technology Review

Eureka AirSpeed Gold Bagless Upright with AirSpeed Technology
Average Reviews:

I have had this vacumn for about a month. I do not think I have had it long enough to write a appropriate review, but I know I will not remember to do it a year from now! I bought this to replace a $200 Kenmore that I had for two years. Two years is good for me. I usually have to replace them every year. I have 4 kids and 3 German Shephers...therefore I vacumn every day, sometimes twice a day. I really like the Eureka Airpeed . The first time I vacumned with it.... I was SHOCKED (at a little grossed out) at how much dirt/hair it got up. I did a 3x3 area and it almost filled the canister! It has great suction. I have low area rugs and this vacumn gets everything up, even dog hair. It also do very good on hard wood floors. It is easy to empty, but the filter and the area around it get DIRTY FAST. I have to clean it alot. I did not think that it would be that dirty that fast, but it started losing suction and I looked any it was not geting any air flow. As soon as I cleaned it, it went back to cleaning perfectly. It is very easy and pretty quick to clean. I rinse the filter about once a weeks. The cord is not quite long as I would like and it falls off the clip a lot while vacumning. It also does not have a light. My favorite thing about the Eureka AirSpeed is the power of the hose! It is equal to a shop vac! It is awesome. The attachments stay on the vacumn nicely (while in use and while not in use). It also gets very close the walls, unlike my old one. If you do not mind a little maintance, it is definitly worth buying. It also comes with a 2 yr warrenty.

Combining powerful suction and extra reach, the EurekaAirSpeed Gold is a bagless upright vacuum that cleans carpets better than the leading uprights.* Boasting innovative AirSpeed Technology, AirSpeed Gold offers deep cleaning throughout the whole home.

The cleaning experts at Eureka know that superior cleaning is important to their customers, but just as essential are specific tools and attachments to attack personal cleaning challenges. Eureka's AirSpeed Gold delivers remarkable cleaning power, convenient tools and an easy-to-use design -- all in an affordable package.

AirSpeed Technology
The key to the cleaning power of AirSpeed Gold lies in its AirSpeed Technology. Unlike most other vacuums with a typically winding hose, AirSpeed Technology has two smooth tubes, featuring limited bends and turns. This allows more air to pass through the vacuum and offers a powerful, deep clean that removes more than just the dirt you can see. The direct air path from floor to cup decreases the distance for dirt to travel, which increases the amount of airflow for powerful suction.

Whirlwind Cyclonic Technology
Eureka's Whirlwind Cyclonic Technology offers maintained suction power and less maintenance** by separating larger debris from fine dust once the dirt is delivered to the dust cup.

Powerful Air Flow
For above-the-floor cleaning, an airflow control switch easily directs air from the base of the vacuum to the hose. This allows users to concentrate all of the vacuum's suction power where they need it. When deep cleaning carpets, the power is directed to the floor. When using tools to remove dirt from hard-to-reach areas like stairs or baseboards, the power is concentrated in the extension hose.

Additional Features:
In addition to AirSpeed Technology, AirSpeed Gold features:

Extended Reach
14' hose and wand plus 32' cord provide 46' of reach for quicker, easier cleaning.

Stair and Upholstery Brush
Brush offers added cleaning power to removing dust, allergens and pet hair from furniture backs and stair risers.

HEPA Filter
High tech filter captures 99.97 percent of dust and allergens for a cleaner home.

No-Mess Emptying
Extra-large easy-empty, bottom release dust cup makes clean-up simple.

On-Board Tools
Crevice tool and dusting brush/upholstery nozzle are designed to clean hard-to-reach areas.

*Based on independent lab tests using ASTM F608 to measure embedded dirt removal from carpet as compared to top 5 vacuums in dollar and unit sales in 2009 according to NPD point of sale data. **When compared to noncyclonic vacuums having dirt filters.

Dirt Devil BD20040RED Extreme Power 14.4 Volt Stick Vac Review

Dirt Devil BD20040RED Extreme Power 14.4 Volt Stick Vac
Average Reviews:

I have had two of these 14.4 volt cordless / bagless Dirt Devil Stick vacuums..
The battery will last about 6 months before it starts failing and at about 9 months
it will only vacuum for about two minutes before the power falls to about 50% of full charge..I charge for 24hrs between daily use...I sent my first machine back to Dirt Devil for replacement after about 10 months of use and they sent me a new machine which has exactly the same poor battery life as the first machine..The machine is also easily plugged up by anything larger / more coarse than dog hair & dirt...Anything larger than
a sunflower seed will plug it up...

With 14-2/5 volts of powerful suction and a cordless design for effortless maneuverability, this convenient stick vac works great for keeping floors clean throughout the house. Use it for everything from soccer-cleat dirt by the front door to cereal crunching under foot in the kitchen. The unit's motorized rotating brush helps pull dirt from carpets and rugs, while its fingertip brushroll shutoff allows for safely cleaning bare-floor surfaces. In addition, the vacuum cleaner comes equipped with a clear bottom-empty dirt cup that removes from the main unit with the push of a button and helps save money (no expensive bags to buy). Other highlights include a swivel head with a nozzle width of 9-1/2 inches, lightweight construction at less than 6 pounds, and a fold-down handle for compact storage. A charging stand comes included (24 hours for a full charge). The vacuum cleaner measures approximately 7-1/2 by 11 by 40 inches and carries a one-year parts-and-motor warranty.

The Home Floor Scrubber/Polisher. Review

The Home Floor Scrubber/Polisher.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have about 500 sf of porcelain tile in my kitchen that is silver in color. Since the entry into the house is right in the kitchen the floor is always dirty. Now that we have a toddler in our house I want to make sure the floors are clean. I've tried everything!!!! Swiffer, deck brush, Shark steam mop, etc.... nothing really gets the floor clean clean. I saw the Pullman Holt in a catalog and it looked like the answer to my problems. It wasn't. The concept of this product seems good, but in reality it fails miserably. The problem is that it is feather light....there is no weight to it so it doesn't "dig in" at all. I tried using it without any microfiber pads on it, just the brushes and it just didn't do anything. I'm not one to write reviews on products typically, but this machine was so pitiful that I just had to write this. I'm awaiting the arrival of a Hoover spin scrub...hopefully that machine does the trick.

This home floor cleaner scrubs and polishes any hard surface floor or carpet with a commercial machine's vigor, yet is easily controlled with one hand. The dual, counter-rotating nylon brushes spin at 470 rpm to remove deeply imbedded stains from carpets and buff a brilliant sheen into hardwood floors, tile, or marble. The 1/3-horsepower machine can be used with any home cleaning solution or stain remover and is as easy to operate as a vacuum cleaner; the brushes engage with a tap of the foot pedal, its lightweight, slim design and wheels allow you to quickly navigate around furniture and along walls, and the 18'-long cord provides enough slack to clean large areas. Three sets of pads--felt (wood floors), microfiber (tile) and terry cloth (carpet)--accommodate different surfaces, or you can leave the brushes uncovered to scrub concrete in a garage or basement. The rugged ABS housing and 18-gauge steel handle ensure years of reliable use. Plugs into AC.

Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner, 86T3 Review

Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine Professional Grade Carpet Cleaner, 86T3
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Considering this Big Green is supposed to be a professional grade carpet cleaner, I expected it to be better than my trusty old Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5914-900. The question really is whether or not the Big Green cleans so much better that it's worth the price.
I tested it on an old carpet remnant we've had sitting out in the garage for more than ten years. It has never been vacuumed nor steam cleaned until today. On the left of the screen is my new Big Green. The center is preserved for the "before" comparison. The right is my SteamVac. As you can see, there is an obvious difference in cleaning capabilities. I actually gave my SteamVac an extra whirl because it looked so dirty, but it still looks dirty compared to the Big Green side.
It's hard to tell from the video, but the dark color you see from the SteamVac side is not wetness. The darkness is actually a more muddied appearance, as if the SteamVac had added water to dirt.
I've owned quite a few carpet cleaners and I can say, this Big Green really is the best. Not just because it cleans carpets better. There are many other advantages:
1) The power cord is extra long. I can reach all up and down my long hallway in one stretch. My SteamVac requires me to plug and unplug.
2) The solution tank is extra large. It requires two capfuls of solution, but that will last a long time before needing to be refilled.
3) The collection tank is likewise huge.
4) The hose is long, with a wide head and good suction. It reaches almost up to the first landing of the stairway in my house.
5) Quick drying time.
Of course, there are a few drawbacks:
1) Even with the large solution and collection tanks empty, this thing is *heavy*. It requires me to push and pull with both hands -- a real workout. If you have a bad back, this may not be for you. Also, I'm not keen on carrying this upstairs.
2) There is no convenient storage for the hose.
SUMMARY AND OTHER THOUGHTS
I like my SteamVac. Until now, it was my favorite carpet cleaner, but it's no match for the Big Green.
I love Big Green. It's the best carpet cleaner I've ever had. My husband even noticed the cleaner carpets, and he's not one who'd normally care. If you really want clean carpets, buy this one.
P.S. If you're like me and just take the things out without checking all, there is a bottle of solution and some cardboard inside the collection tank. I cleaned my entire hallway and didn't know until I went to empty the tank. D'oh! No harm done, though.

Hoover Commercial Elite Lightweight Vacuum Review

Hoover Commercial Elite Lightweight Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The key is that this is a commercial vacuum, intended for heavy duty use, for people who go around hotel rooms by day, or offices by night. These are applications where durability is key, where a luxury feature is just one more thing to break down. At the same time, light weight is a premium, because the vaccum has to be carried from room to room, office to office, hour after hour. Think of a supercar, one of those high priced cars where they take out the luxury features, replace the aluminum with carbon fiber to save weight, and raise the price by thousands of dollars. The Hoover commercial doesn't have attachments to do drapes, won't convert to a shoulder vacuum, can't clean your car, and makes a lot of noise. The cord doesn't retract and there is no light. It really wasn't intended for home use, so why bother?
In my case, the choice was largely motivated by space considerations. My house was built around 1950, part of the post-World War II housing boom, when the builders were throwing out lots of the old rules, building small houses in a hurry. They built well. Compared to later houses, they were generous with steel beam supports and bracing, but the rooms are small. The master bedroom was designed for a double bed, not the more generous queen and king-size furniture of a more affluent decade. There other bedrooms were equally small, intended as sleeping quarters, not the sleep, entertainment and study centers that followed. A conventional home vacuum would have trouble maneuvering. Proper cleaning called for something smaller, but still capable of real cleaning, getting the dirt out of a carpet that's walked on in a steady straight path.
And that's it. It's what the Hoover does well in steady use. It gets around the furniture, isn't a hassle to take out of the closet, adjusts to floors, high pile and commercial carpeting, and makes enough noise to make the dog hide under the bed. The high powered motor has a bit more suction than most, so it cleans a bit more quickly. The bag has the requisite filter capability and fills from the top, which is the basis for all the non-clogging claims of other cleaners.
Realistically, for home use, you can get something more suitable. There will be lots of cleaners designed to be used once a week, with tools for above floor cleaning, cord retractors and the sort of faux-industrial design that seems to be in style these days. A standard home vacuum will do the job just as well at a lower price, and the benefits of this model may not be noticed. Still, the Hoover commerical has benefits that shouldn't be completely overlooked. The oversized motor saves cleaning time, even if it's only a minute or two (my cleaning ladies love it -- I'm not sure I notice the difference anymore)and will outlast most other machines, or would in heavy duty use. For people with the same circumstances I have, who have tight spaces that call for heavy duty cleaning, this is a good, rational choice. Otherwise, it's a form of overkill -- leave it to the hotel owners and office bulding managers it was designed for.

Micro Vacuum Attachment Kit sold at Miniatures Review

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who finds those compressed air can things completely useless in cleaning crap out of my electronics. It's bad enough taht they're bad for the environment, they also don't work as well as the price tag says they should. Thank goodness for this attachment set!
All hype aside, this product works exactly as the makers claim. Use the power of your vacuum to get all the crap out of your keyboard, CPU, stereo and anywhere else. I particularly like the brushes.
I've also found that the dust I'm after is stubborn. You really do need the full power of a vacuum to get at it. So forget those handheld deals that hook into your USB port or whatever. This product is cheaper than a lot of them and works better than all of them.

Dirt Devil Power Stick Bagless Vacuum Cleaner, 10 Amps, M084100RED Review

Dirt Devil Power Stick Bagless Vacuum Cleaner, 10 Amps, M084100RED
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this 12 amp Dirt Devil after my 6 amp Eureka broke from 3 years of weekly use. I was very happy with my original 6 amps of power. However, I decided it was time to double up since I live with two cats that constantly shed. The DD does a great job at picking up furballs, sand, dirt, crumbs, small pebbles and many more from my hardwood and tile floors. Besides a great suction power, the DD is also light weight and stands up on its own. However, there are many drawbacks:
1) Too LOUD!! I wear ear plugs every time I use this machine (seriously!!). We already know it has 12 amps of power... we don't need to hear it!
2) The handle is too short. I am 5 feet 6 inches and I honestly feel that the handle is about 2-3 inches too short. I constantly find myself bending my back while using this machine.
3) The vaccum head does not swivel. I loved the fact that my old Eureka had the ability to swivel. It definitely made vaccuming easier.
4) Air shoots out of the side vents, which blows away what I need to suck up from the floor. This is really annoying since I have to "chase" what I want to vaccum.
5) Too big to go under my sofa. I can only get the vaccum head underneath. The entire body will not fit because is too big. I have to clean the remaining 2-3 feet of space with a swifter.
Although the DD does have excellent suction power, I prefer my old 6 amp Eureka, which cleaned just as well, without the loud engine! If you don't want to run around chasing your dirt while wearing ear plugs, then pass up this DD and buy another vaccum.

Eureka ReadyForce Bagged Canister Vacuum, 900A Review

Eureka ReadyForce Bagged Canister Vacuum, 900A
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been looking at canister vacs for a long time. I bought one, hated it (the floor attachment kept falling off, the filter kept clogging), and ended up returning it. I am pleasantly surprised by this little machine...the suction is great, it's not too loud, doesn't clog, and it's lightweight. Plus the price is right!! I was looking into getting a miele until I found this. I use this at my vacation home (a 60 year old ranch home that produces a LOT of dust) where all the floors are hardwood or tile and I have an area rug. The vac works fairly well on the area rug, too. The handle feels much more solid than the previous machine I had and doesn't fall apart. And I actually prefer the bag to the bagless version I previously had. It is so much easier to change the bag than pull out a canister and have dust flying everywhere. I highly recommend this for someone who has a lot of hardwood floors and wants to get up ALL the dust on the floors, in the corners, under the sofas!!!

Dirt Devil UD40275 Power Path Dual Stage Cyclonic Bagless Upright Review

Dirt Devil UD40275 Power Path Dual Stage Cyclonic Bagless Upright
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this to replace a cheap bagless vacuum cleaner I'd bought several years ago during a Black Friday sale. Said vacuum didn't pick up dirt very well, clogged easily (both the hose to the dirt compartment and the area around the 'filter' at the top of the compartment). It also didn't have a hose. However, until I used this Dirt Devil on my carpet, I had no idea just how bad it was.
This vacuum picks up dirt better than the last bagged vacuum I owned. I learned this in an unfortunate way; skipping over the instructions on how to empty it, I ended up dumping the contents partly on my hand. Those contents were a very thin, almost rice-like powder, nothing like what my previous vacuums had picked up. Best of all, when I ran it over some loose cat litter, it didn't spit anything back out at me like many vacuums. The hose is generous with several nifty attachments (I haven't used them all but soon will) and the sucking power is strong enough to yank my hands towards the hose. But be careful when you first remove the vacuum from the styrofoam packing; I was repeatedly shocked when I vacuumed my floor, and badly. I recommend running a dryer sheet over the hose before using it the first time (unless you let it sit out for a while).
Speaking of the bagless compartment, it has easy removal to empty and the bottom-opening method is rather clever once you know it's there. The HEPA and foam filter are also very easy to get to (pop open the catch once you've removed the collecting compartment, and voila!). It's also about double the size of my old one. I vacuumed a mid-size living room and it was only 75% full (I have a Maine Coon cat, so most of it was fur). The old vacuum had to be emptied halfway through most of the time.
However, there are a few minor problems with this vacuum. The box suggests it can be used on bare floor, but it merely blew a small area of dirt all over the kitchen. But I'll not quibble over that since vacuums are meant for carpets anyway. The biggest complaint I have is that the collecting container falls out. It has yet to fall out during use, thankfully, but you should've heard me scream when it first fell out as I was putting it away. This was before I realized that the container is utterly sealed. No mess to clean up if it tips over (though at the time, I believe it was already empty - call it a habit from the old vacuum that had repeated spills). It seems to come loose if you set it down too hard. It's fairly secure when simply moving the vacuum back and forth, or even shaking the handle. It's a vertical jarring that does it.
This vacuum is quite heavy, so I'm not sure it'd be good for taking up and down stairs. But the heaviness is all in the bottom of the vacuum, and helps push the vacuum onto the carpet. So it's a trade-off. I can't tell you if there's any extra oomph to be had by the cyclonic airflow. I did notice the cat hair was more evenly distributed rather than clumping in one spot and restricting the flow. There's also quite a bit of exhaust air, but I didn't notice it having as bad a dusty/dirty quality to it as most vacuums, so perhaps the HEPA filter matters. Lastly, I'm 5'9 and most vacuums tend to have me stooping slightly, but this one seemed to be tall enough for me. Personally, I'm pretty happy with the Dirt Devil UD40275, flaws and all. Good value for the price.

The new Dirt Devil Extreme Quick Vac Cyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum has all the features of a full size vacuum, but with a lightweight and compact design. The clean release dirt cup has a bottom empty design so you don't touch the dirt or dirty filter when cleaning out your vacuum. Also featuring an automatic height adjustment so it can easily transition from carpets to hard floors. The telescopic handle allows for ease of use as well as compact storage. A deluxe stretch hose means you can reach all of those hidden areas, and plenty of on board tools allow you to customize your cleaning experience. The included filter is both washable and reusable, so there is no need to worry about purchasing replacement filters-or bags. The filter is constructed of HEPA media, so you can breathe easily knowing that up to 99.9% of allergens are being captured while you vacuum. The cyclonic cleaning power assists in prolonging the life of your filter, and allows for easier maintenance. Going bagless means not only avoiding the constant struggle to install new bags or remove old ones, but there is also no need to spend money purchasing replacement bags every month. Bissell Quicksteamer Powerbrush Lightweight Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner, 2080 Review

Bissell Quicksteamer Powerbrush Lightweight Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner, 2080
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this Lightweight Carpet Cleaner with the hope of cleaning room by room of my home over time so that I wouldn't have to pay Professional Carpet Cleaners to come in once a year to clean my carpets. We recently added an "indoor" puppy to our family too, so our carpets were really taking a beating. Both my husband and I are thoroughly impressed with the Bissell 2080. We knew buying a Bissell was a good decision, but we were a little skeptical that we might should have bought a more heavy duty cleaner, but every penny counts in our household. Using the 2080 to clean a room at a time per weekend is working GREAT! We did find that the sprayer didn't meet our needs (puppy spots) - but we took the Bissell cleaning fluid, put it in a spray bottle, then sprayed everything! By the time we were finished spraying, we were ready to use the Powerbrush to run over the stains, scrub the solution and vacuum it up! The carpet looks like new -- which is an accomplishment because we're a family of 5 and that doesn't include our 2 mature dogs and our puppy! I would definitely recommend this cleaner to anyone that needs to watch their budget but also wants a really good cleaning job!
Oh, one last thing, I read this in reviews before I purchased the 2080 and it is SO true -- when you are vacuuming the cleaner out of the rug, GO SLOW!! If you go slow, you'll vacuum up the maximum amount of liquid and your carpet will dry super quick! Good luck!

We needed a replacement Hoover belt. The price on Amazon indicated $3.99 for 2 belts; however, when I clicked to go to the external website, the price jumped to $6.99. Shipping was still free.
I received my purchase today and there was only 1 belt. The packing slip indicated "Hoover Wind Tunnel Canister Power Nozzle Belt 2 In a Pack (40201180) # 38528036". I would prefer to pay $6.99 for one belt than to be deceived into thinking you can purchase 2 belts for $3.99. I will not order from this company in the future.

Hoover S1361 Compact Canister Review

I have had this vac for a year now and I need to replace it. PROS: Great suction and telescoping wand. Cleaning head for rug and floor are pretty decent. I like the way the vac head could clip on to the vac which kept the hose upright and in place which is a plus while in closet. CONS: Big one: The metal wand constantly falls off. There is no way to make the metal telescoping wand stay attached to plastic hose. This is a problem for all Hoover small cannister vacs. 2nd Con: Today the retractable cord retracted but must have gone off its track inside vacuum and now I can't get the cord to unwind. I have looked the whole casing over and there is not a screw in sight that would let you gain access to fix the cord. 3rd and my fault, used the vac to clean car and must have stepped on metal wand and dented it. I can not get the metal wand to extend now. It's jammed good. My fault and was going to call Hoover to get new wand, but now the cord is jammed also. The nearest authorized Hoover repair place is too far away for me. 4th con: the only extra attachment is a crevice tool with a removable brush head. There is no upholstery brush which I dearly miss. Last con: Although wheels in the rear of vac are large and sturdy, there is one small wheel in front and the vac tips over constantly. All in all, I thought the vac cleaned well, but I would not purchase again. Pretty ugly color too!
