(More customer reviews)I am an avid vacuum connoisseur and amateur vacuum repair person. My Mom has two Dyson's that she loves and I am know the product backwards and forwards (and have repaired/serviced them many times for her). I am definitely a "vacuum snob" and can somewhat share in the bias that many on here have for the expensive vacuums. We have a small place and its not necessary for us to get our own Dyson because of this. For Christmas I received this vacuum from a relative, at my request.
First off, I must say that just because its a "Domestic" brand doesn't make it any less good. I have literally tested the suction and efficiency of both of my Mom's Dyson's (same models I must add) against this Hoover and they work just as good. The thing I like about this Hoover is that it has the cord winder. The cord can get kinked up and you have to shake it loose sometimes to make it rewind, but it really is a good feature. I do wish that the cord was longer, however. This vacuum has extremely strong suction and we have never, ever lost suction. It is a more petite vacuum, unlike the bulky/heavy Dyson.. so petite women like myself can easily lug it from room to room. One other issue is that it is also loud like the other one, but I can put up with it since it sucks so well.
I like that I can step on the pedal on the left hand corner and use it in the kitchen/bathroom and then make it come back up for use on carpet. If you are considering a Dyson and don't have that much money, please take a trip over to Walmart or buy on Amazon. This vacuum really is up to par with the Dyson products and you won't break the bank buying it.
