The attempt fails with negative results to your vacuum's motor and time consuming cleanup on your part. A bag for a canister type body vacuum should have the attachment cardboard hose clamp on the small end of the bag since the bag lies flat in the body of the vacuum. DVC attempts to put the attachment card for the hose clamp on the long side of the bag which when installed forces the bag to be folded over almost 90 degrees upon itself in order to lie flat. This is really an upright bag shape forced into a canister body. This puts a strain on the paper bag sidewalls that results in a tear which lets dust and dirt loose into the bag compartment. If you have not kept your filter on the motor intake, where the air is sucked out of the compartment, you will find your motor caked in dust which will shorten its life or burn out its bearings. Oh, you have got to laugh about the guarantee. "Just send the defective full of dirt and dust used bag with the tear back to the factory and they will send you a "new" improperly designed bag so you can go through the ordeal all over again". Gotta love that catch twenty-two mindset. Buy the real Hoover type M bag and cleanup your living space instead of the vacuum's insides.
